Baseball Game Preview: Life Christian Academy Eagles vs. Hargrave Military Academy Tigers

The Life Christian Academy Eagles will take on the Hargrave Military Academy Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Life Christian Academy's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Hargrave Military Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

On Saturday, Life Christian Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Hampton Roads Academy.

Conner Gaster was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Gaster wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was JJ Jimenez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs Jimenez has posted since back in April of 2024. Aden Reynolds was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Life Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hampton Roads Academy only posted an OBP of .351.

Meanwhile, Hargrave Military Academy came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Eastern Mennonite with a sharp 10-2 victory on Friday.

Life Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hargrave Military Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
