Wakefield hadn't done well against Middle Creek recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wolverines came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs, sneaking past 4-3. The victory was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on six straight.

Tyler Rotellini looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Wakefield's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Piscorik, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Wakefield pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Middle Creek, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

Coming up, Wakefield will be playing in front of their home fans against Athens Drive at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Middle Creek, they will head out to face off against Broughton at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
