On Tuesday, the Pinson Valley Indians faced the Clay-Chalkville Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pinson Valley fell just short of Clay-Chalkville by a score of 60-58. It was the first time this season that Pinson Valley let down their fans at home.
Pinson Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camron Frost, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Frost has scored all season. Clyde Walters was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 assists.
Pinson Valley's loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10. As for Clay-Chalkville, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinson Valley will take on Center Point at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clay-Chalkville, they will be playing at home against Mortimer Jordan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mortimer Jordan is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
