Cristian Esquivel put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2024 on Thursday. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Duluth is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-14 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Esquivel and Duluth will face off against Central Gwinnett at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Black Knights thanks in part to Esquivel: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched.
