Basketball Recap: Bri Fox Key Part of Team Effort in Hawks Win

Washington typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday University proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 63-57 win over the Washington Patriots. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

University's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bri Fox, who posted 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Fox has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Lexi Simpson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.

University's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.

Coming up, University will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Preston at 7:30 p.m. As for Washington, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-43 victory against Jefferson on the 17th.
