Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Valeria Calderon and Ellie Calpin Lead Georgetown Visitation Prep to Victory

Georgetown Visitation Prep hadn't done well against Bullis recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cubs put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Cubs were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Bulldogs, so the Cubs were just returning the favor.

While Georgetown Visitation Prep won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15, 31-29.

Georgetown Visitation Prep was led to victory by Ellie Calpin and Valeria Calderon. Calpin had 20 digs and one assist, while Calderon had eight digs. Those 20 digs gave Calpin a new career-high.

Dylan Lin and Olivia Mazur certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Lin had ten digs, while Mazur had nine digs and two aces.

The win made it two in a row for Georgetown Visitation Prep and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Bullis, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown Visitation Prep will venture away from home to square off against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bullis, they will head out to challenge Georgetown Day at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
