Softball Recap: Taylor Finds Playoff Glory Versus Waynesville

Taylor extended their postseason success on Friday against Waynesville. They had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since May 15, 2024.

Ellie Stafford spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Emma King was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Taylor has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Waynesville, they moved to 4-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Taylor nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
