Softball Recap: A.C. Reynolds Has No Trouble Against Asheville

A.C. Reynolds's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Asheville Cougars with a sharp 17-2 victory. Considering the Rockets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Jordan Dorsey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Davis, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

A.C. Reynolds was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

A.C. Reynolds pushed their record up to 8-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Asheville, they are on a 36-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-20.
