Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph D Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heritage Christian, St. Joseph D was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cornerstone Family Saints. This was a revenge game for the Defenders: when they faced off against the Saints on September 11th, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-19, 27-29, 27-25.

When it comes to explaining why Cornerstone Family lost, don't look at Molly Riddle. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and three aces.

St. Joseph D's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Cornerstone Family, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. St. Joseph D is set to square off against their familiar foe Whitefield Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Cornerstone Family will take on rival Shawnee Mission Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
