Football Recap: Glades Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

Glades Central had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down the King's Academy Lions 23-6 on Friday. The Raiders pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

Glades Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taj Barnes out in front who threw for 189 yards and two TDs. Armaud Stinfort helped Barnes out on the ground, picking up 37 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 54 yards.

The win was the third in a row for Glades Central, bringing their record up to 10-1. As for King's Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Glades Central will venture away from home to take on Lakewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Raiders 7, the Spartans 9.6) so any points scored will be well earned. King's Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
