Taft is 2-8 against O'Connor since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Raiders will take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m.
Taft managed to slip by Brennan the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Raiders came up short against the Bears on Friday, falling 12-2.
Eduardo Toral was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Aaden Daniels also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
O'Connor came out on top against Stevens on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Falcons 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Falcons since April 22, 2023.
Ryan Zaiontz looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Rudy Perez was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for O'Connor: the team is 3-1-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-13-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Chavana, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
O'Connor has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Taft, they now have a losing record of 12-13.
Taft suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to O'Connor in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
