After each having a week off, the Wolcott Eagles and the Seymour Wildcats will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Wolcott's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Ansonia two weeks ago. They were beaten by the Chargers 56-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seymour). They had just enough and edged Derby out 21-18.
Seymour didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jack Hennessy and Connor Shea. The dominant performance also gave Shea a new career-high in rushing yards.
Wolcott's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Wolcott was taken down by Seymour 49-6 when the teams last played back in October of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wolcott was down 42-0.
