Softball Recap: Bishop Manogue Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Bishop Manogue and Reed squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Bishop Manogue had to settle for second. They lost 9-1 to the Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Miners have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Bishop Manogue saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiki Harris, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Bishop Manogue's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-10-1. As for Reed, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 23 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5-1 record this season.

Bishop Manogue and Reed are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Miners will take on Damonte Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Reed, they will challenge Spanish Springs at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
