Basketball Game Preview: Habersham Central Raiders vs. Alcovy Tigers

The Habersham Central Raiders will face off against the Alcovy Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Habersham Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Alcovy likes a good challenge.

Habersham Central is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Winder-Barrow just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldoggs.

Meanwhile, Alcovy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Alcovy has posted since December 12, 2023.

Alcovy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Habersham Central, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 16-3.

Habersham Central beat Alcovy 68-55 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Will Habersham Central repeat their success, or does Alcovy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
