Soccer Game Preview: Wheeling vs. Conant

Wheeling is 0-9 against Conant since April of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Wheeling and Hoffman Estates had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wildcats came up short against the Hawks on Wednesday, falling 4-0. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Wheeling's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Conant's game on Wednesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Rolling Meadows by a score of 3-2.

Victoria Mari and Vivian Brand scored both of Conant's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Conant's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Wheeling, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Wheeling might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Conant in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
