Softball Recap: Eustis Beats Mount Dora for Their Fourth Straight Win

Eustis owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They came out on top against the Mount Dora Hurricanes by a score of 3-0. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Mount Dora's batters probably weren't too happy with Carson Roden, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Roden.

On the hitting side, Ella Fleming was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Brooklyn Powhida was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one stolen base.

Eustis' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Mount Dora, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eustis will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Montverde Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Mount Dora, they will challenge Tavares at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
