Football Recap: Evanston Comes Up Short

Evanston played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Fremd Vikings and fell 34-7. While losing is never fun, the Wildkits can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Vikings are ranked 39th).

Fremd had a senior duo take command as Johnny O'Brien threw for 278 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt and Marquan Brewster picked up 153 receiving yards and two TDs.

Evanston now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Fremd, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Evanston will take on Hoffman Estates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fremd, they will head out to challenge New Trier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
