The Summit Hilltoppers will face off against the Union Catholic Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Summit played in-conference for the first time on Thursday and got just the result they were looking for. They walked away with a 10-6 win over New Providence. The Hilltoppers haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Matt Mckeever, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Ryan Barber was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and four RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Summit kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Union Catholic earned a 9-5 win over Westfield on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.
Ryan Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.
At the plate, Nick Anderson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Union Catholic's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Summit, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Summit beat Union Catholic 14-9 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Hilltoppers repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
