Sahuaro waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Poston Butte Broncos 66-9. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season.

Sahuaro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Biale Sika out in front who posted eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Jordynn Chavis was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Sahuaro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Sahuaro has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.9 points per game. As for Poston Butte, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sahuaro will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Tucson High Magnet School at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
