Soccer Game Preview: Lake Highland Prep vs. Horizon

The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders will face off against the Horizon Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, everything went Lake Highland Prep's way against Lyman as Lake Highland Prep made off with a 4-1 victory. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Horizon came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 5-1 win. Considering the Hawks have won six games by more than three goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Winter Park with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Fernando Dexheimer Fiuza (2), Vitor Ribeiro, Rafa Tomirotte, and Weber Nakagawa.

Horizon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those eight contests. As for Lake Highland Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4-1.
