Baseball Recap: Lafayette Hornets vs. Williston Red Devils
Lafayette proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Williston Red Devils 4-3. The Hornets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Devils, too.
Hyatt Richardson and Noah Lamb made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Richardson pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lamb pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. At bat, Richardson scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Lamb went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Richardson snagged this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harris Johnson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Ethan Tuten also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Lafayette kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williston only managed three hits.
