Basketball Game Preview: BASIS Phoenix Firebirds vs. Camp Verde Cowboys

The BASIS Phoenix Firebirds will face off against the Camp Verde Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

BASIS Phoenix saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were beaten by San Carlos 98-31. While losing is never fun, the Firebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Braves are ranked 141st).

Meanwhile, Camp Verde suffered their biggest loss since December 3, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 86-62 to North Valley Christian Academy.

BASIS Phoenix has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Camp Verde, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
