Softball Preview: Needville Bluejays vs. Bellville Brahmas
Needville is 7-1 against Bellville since March of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Needville Bluejays will look to defend their home field against the Bellville Brahmas at 7:00 p.m. Needville will be looking to keep their 20-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
Last Friday, Needville got themselves on the board against Sealy, but Sealy never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Tigers.
Sealy's batters probably weren't too happy with Makala Smith, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Those seven innings set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jojo Cantu, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Bellville fell victim to a rough 10-4 defeat at the hands of Sealy last Saturday. Bellville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
