Baseball Game Preview: Kasson-Mantorville Komets vs. Lakeville South Cougars

The Kasson-Mantorville Komets will head out to take on the Lakeville South Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kasson-Mantorville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Kasson-Mantorville proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Faribault 6-5.

Sam Graunke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooks Irish, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jace Craft, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
