Recap: Yucaipa Thunderbirds vs. Colony Titans
If the Yucaipa Thunderbirds were feeling good off their 73-28 takedown of the Banning Broncos last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Yucaipa took a serious blow against Colony on Monday, falling 69-39. While losing is never fun, Yucaipa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while Colony is ranked 183rd).
Yucaipa's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Doty, who scored 12 points. The game was Doty's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Reagan Sager was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Yucaipa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Colony, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Yucaipa will take on Yucca Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Yucca Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Monday. As for Colony, they will square off against Valley View at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Allowing an average of 62 points per game, Valley View has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest.
