Volleyball Recap: Chillicothe Comes Up Short

Chillicothe was the 3-0 winner over Southeastern when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chillicothe actually scored more points across those five sets (104-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 26-24, 13-25, 25-20, 19-25, 15-10.

Evelyn Hamman paced Chillicothe's offense, picking up 25 kills. Hamman got some help from Isabella Witte and her 30 assists. Makalee Miller controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Chillicothe's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Southeastern, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Chillicothe and Southeastern should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Cavaliers (ranked 158th) will meet Hilliard Bradley (ranked 429th) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Southeastern will take on Paint Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (164 vs. 525).
