Volleyball Recap: Foxcroft Takes a Loss

Foxcroft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets. Surprisingly, this marked Foxcroft's fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Foxcroft sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 23-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-8.

Despite the defeat, Foxcroft saw an underclassman step up: sophomore J.J. Taylor had 11 digs. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Taylor. Lucy Pachas also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Foxcroft's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Foxcroft has already played their next match (against Wakefield School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, they will take on Highland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
