Softball Recap: Megan Mccadden Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Centennial

Independence pushed their score to 13 the last time they played Centennial, but on Wednesday they couldn't quite do it again. The Independence Knights never let the Centennial Titans get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won five in a row.

Independence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan McCADDEN, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. McCADDEN has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Katy TOWNE also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Independence's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Centennial, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Independence will head out on the road to challenge Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Independence is facing Heritage at the right time seeing as Heritage is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Centennial, they will be taking part in a tournament against Legacy Christian Academy at 2:40 p.m. on Friday. Legacy Christian Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Centennial surely won't give up without a fight.
