Baseball Recap: Anahuac Takes a Loss

Anahuac lost against Hardin last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Anahuac fell just short of Hardin by a score of 3-1. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Luke Hoagland made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Blake Majors was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Anahuac's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13-1. As for Hardin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Anahuac will take on rival Buna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hardin is set to square off against their familiar foe East Chambers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
