Basketball Recap: Mather Comes Up Short

The Mather Rangers lost 63-42 to the Dyett Eagles on Thursday. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Mather lost, don't look at Adin Smajlovic. Despite the final result, he posted 24 points. Another player making a difference was Byron Purnell, who had six points.

It was another big night for Jerremiah Jackson, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 24 points and four steals for Dyett. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least a third of the Eagles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Fox, who scored 14 points and six assists.

Mather's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Dyett, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-22 record.

Mather wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-57 victory against Northtown on the 6th. Dyett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
