Basketball Recap: Wright Comes Up Short

Wright and Pine Bluffs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Wright had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Pine Bluffs Hornets and fell 68-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since February 14th.

Despite the loss, Wright had strong showings from Briana Meza, who posted eight points along with 13 rebounds and three steals, and Dani Barnhurst, who scored 12 points. Meza has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last nine times she's played.

Wright has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-17 record this season. Pine Bluffs' win bumped their record up to 19-9.

Wright does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pine Bluffs, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-44 victory against Big Horn on the 8th.
