Preview: Monsignor Pace Spartans vs. North Broward Prep Eagles

Two dominant guards in Catherine Guillaume and Alexa Schwartz are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Monsignor Pace Spartans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the North Broward Prep Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. One thing working in Monsignor Pace's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.

Monsignor Pace extended their postseason success on Friday against iMater Charter. They blew past the Knights, posting a 93-6 win on the road. Monsignor Pace has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Monsignor Pace's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alessandra Bonilla led the charge by scoring 24 points along with two steals. Bonilla is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 23 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Guillaume, who scored 21 points along with two steals and two blocks.

Meanwhile, North Broward Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were outmatched by Somerset Academy - Canyons on the road and fell 75-44. While losing is never fun, North Broward Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Somerset Academy - Canyons is ranked 34th).

Monsignor Pace is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for North Broward Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.
