Basketball Game Preview: Utica Redskins vs. Northridge Vikings

The Utica Redskins will challenge the Northridge Vikings at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Utica didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Zanesville, but they still walked away with a 62-56 victory. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 609th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Northridge had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They skirted past the Warriors 53-50.

Utica's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Northridge, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Utica beat Northridge 49-37 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Utica since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
