Football Recap: Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats vs. Natalia Mustangs
Skidmore-Tynan couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 28-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Natalia Mustangs on Friday. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.
Natalia found their leader in underclassman Leonardo Buentello, who rushed for 179 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Peralta, who gained 121 total yards.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skidmore-Tynan will venture away from home to face off against Kenedy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have been evenly matched recently as the teams are 3-3 against one another since September of 2014. As for Natalia, they will take on Lytle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
