Baseball Recap: Holton Comes Up Short

Holton's last matchup with Riley County could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 17-5 to the Falcons. The Wildcats' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Korben Fox made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Clete Wray, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Holton's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Riley County, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-22.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Holton beat the Falcons by a score of 11-6 later that day.
