Baseball Recap: Lamar Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Lamar had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Paschal Panthers by a score of 8-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Greco, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-6. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Davis, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will face off against Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Paschal, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Keller Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
