Preview: Southeast of Saline Trojans vs. Sacred Heart Knights
The Southeast of Saline Trojans will be home for the holidays to greet the Sacred Heart Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Southeast of Saline scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Hillsboro by a score of 62-50.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast of Saline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gannon Jacobson, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Jacobson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Bailey, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 47-37 victory over Berean Academy. Given Sacred Heart's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Berean Academy is ranked 135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Southeast of Saline's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Sacred Heart, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Southeast of Saline strolled past Sacred Heart when the teams last played back in January by a score of 66-48. Does Southeast of Saline have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sacred Heart turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
