Baseball Game Preview: Penn Wood Patriots vs. String Theory

The Penn Wood Patriots will take on String Theory at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Penn Wood has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 13.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Penn Wood's offense. They lost 15-0 to Chichester on Thursday.

String Theory's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Kensington on Thursday. String Theory came out on top against Swenson Arts & Tech by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Aiden Jones was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because String Theory is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 1-2 otherwise. Jones was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Martin Long, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

String Theory has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Penn Wood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
