Soccer Game Preview: Orland vs. Gridley

The Orland Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Gridley Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Orland is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Corning just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Tuesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result kept Orland happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 10, 2025.

Meanwhile, Gridley had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Gridley, who have now won eight matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Gridley's win bumped their record up to 11-1. Orland's draw gives them a new season record of 7-3-1.

Orland couldn't quite get it done against Gridley in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 as they fell 2-0. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
