Everything went their way against Adobe Mountain as Southwest Leadership Academy made off with a 70-50 victory. It was another big night for Ayden Gonzales, who scored 21 points along with seven assists and seven steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Serious Sykes was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Empower College Prep beat Sequoia Charter 51-47 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Empower College Prep.
Southwest Leadership Academy's win was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Empower College Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Southwest Leadership Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Empower College Prep in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory.
