Basketball Recap: Crest Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Crest won the last time they faced Burns and things went their way on Thursday too. The Crest Chargers walked away with a 58-45 win over the Burns Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Crest had a senior duo take command as De'Kaylia Davis posted 15 points and Zaira Faulkner earned 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Faulkner. The team also got some help courtesy of Abree Smith, who had six points.

Burns lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Emma Wallace, who put up 16 points and four steals. Wallace is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Greene, who posted 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Crest pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Burns, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Crest and Burns will both be playing Hendersonville the next time they take the court. Burns will host Hendersonville at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Crest will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
