Volleyball Recap: Shawnee Mission Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Shawnee Mission Christian came into Tuesday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Blue Ridge Christian Warriors on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Shawnee Mission Christian walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21, 22-25, 25-15.

Maranda Zink paced Shawnee Mission Christian's offense, picking up seven kills. Zink got some help from Carolyn Sappington and her ten assists. Sappington was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Shawnee Mission Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Blue Ridge Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Coincidentally, Shawnee Mission Christian and Blue Ridge Christian will both be playing Cornerstone Family the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will host the Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
