Baseball Game Preview: Friday Harbor Wolverines vs. Sultan Turks

The Friday Harbor Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Sultan Turks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Friday Harbor has three straight victories, Sultan has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Friday Harbor not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 10-0). They blew past Darrington 8-1.

Triston Bremer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Henry Pope was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Parker Aylward, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Sultan didn't have quite enough to beat South Whidbey on Thursday and fell 8-6.

Friday Harbor's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Sultan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Friday Harbor might still be hurting after the 17-3 defeat they got from Sultan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
