Baseball Game Preview: Parkview Baptist Eagles vs. Liberty Magnet Patriots

The Parkview Baptist Eagles will challenge the Liberty Magnet Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkview Baptist will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Parkview Baptist is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: University Lab, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Parkview Baptist was ranked 15th). The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Cubs 2-1. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Liberty Magnet got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Woodlawn-B.R. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Tyler Houston was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Daniel Sanchez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Parkview Baptist's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty Magnet, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.
