Basketball Recap: North Tampa Christian Academy Titans vs. Sumner Stingrays
North Tampa Christian Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Sumner on Saturday. The Titans took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stingrays.

Despite the loss, North Tampa Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Magdalynn Higgins shot 46% from the field en route to 24 points and seven boards. Higgins' evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Adrionna Butzky, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.
Sumner's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendal Curtis, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Curtis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Mariah Farmer was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.
North Tampa Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Sumner, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Tampa Christian Academy will square off against Seffner Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sumner, they will be playing at home against Morgan at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
