Volleyball Recap: Hickory's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hickory waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bandys Trojans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Hickory was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 22-25, 25-20, 27-25.

Hickory was led to victory by Ella Kate Stewart and Izzy Montgomery. Stewart had 16 digs and one assist, while Montgomery had eight digs and two assists. That's the most digs Stewart has posted over her last 13 matches.

Bandys' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Paysour, who had 13 digs and two aces. Paysour has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Saunders, who had 12 assists and five digs.

Hickory's win bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Bandys, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Hickory nor Bandys have any future games scheduled.
