Football Recap: Manzanola Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Manzanola had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it four. They had to suffer through a 72-7 loss at the hands of Bethune. Manzanola lost against Bethune in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 40-27 score last time.

As for Bethune, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Considering they have won three matchups by more than 40 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Bethune's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ismael Perla, who rushed for 200 yards and four scores on only nine carries. Perla's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 142 rushing yards. Angel Millan also helped out as he racked up 129 rushing yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Manzanola will square off against Wiley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bethune, they will challenge Granada at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bethune will be up against Granada's rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.88 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
