Softball Game Preview: Oak Harbor Wildcats vs. Stanwood Spartans

The Oak Harbor Wildcats will take on the Stanwood Spartans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Oak Harbor couldn't beat Squalicum on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Storm by a score of 8-7.

Meanwhile, Stanwood faced Monroe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Spartans walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Bearcats. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on four straight.

Addison Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over ten innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Megan Stulc, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Oak Harbor has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Stanwood, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.
