Baseball Game Preview: Hampton-Dumont/CAL vs. St. Edmond Gaels

Hampton-Dumont/CAL will head out to challenge the St. Edmond Gaels at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hampton-Dumont/CAL's offense. They came up short against Algona on Thursday, falling 10-0. Hampton-Dumont/CAL hasn't had much luck with Algona recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, St. Edmond brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past Eagle Grove 16-6 on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Gaels as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Hampton-Dumont/CAL's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for St. Edmond, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-14.

Hampton-Dumont/CAL took their win against St. Edmond in their previous matchup back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 12-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hampton-Dumont/CAL since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
