Basketball Recap: Prairie Heights Drops Season-High Score on Lakewood Park Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prairie Heights). They snuck past Lakewood Park Christian with a 49-44 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Prairie Heights as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Leading Prairie Heights to victory were Avery Certain and Addison Taylor. Certain almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Taylor posted 13 points. Those 13 points gave Taylor a new career-high. Isobel Wolheter also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Prairie Heights smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Prairie Heights picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Lakewood Park Christian, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Coming up, Prairie Heights will square off against Bethany Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against New Haven at 6:00 p.m. The Panthers will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.38 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
